How to Replace an new audi keys G28 Engine Speed Sensor

1. Engine Speed Sensor
The grey wire is located on the outside of the transmission, directly above the flywheel ring. This sensor sends a signal via the grey wire to pin T55/49. The ECU then utilizes this information to regulate the boost, fuel, and timig. It also sends an indication to the G5 Tachometer in instrument cluster.
The sensor serves as a reference for comparing with the G40 Camshaft Position Sensor. The ecu needs to know when the crankshaft is TDC and where the camshaft is so it can activate spark and injectors accordingly.
If this sensor fails the ECU will show the P00160 error, which means the Crank Shaft and Intake Camshaft are out of sync and could indicate the chain stretching or a jump link on the upper timing chain. However, the error code won't be displayed on its own without additional information from other sensors (G4 and G40).

The best method for doing this is to measure the resistance between the ECU and the sensor. If the sensor is functional, it should read about 1000 ohms. Yesterday accelerating full speed from highway paytoll, I experienced massive power loss like the engine is running out of gas or injectors are not firing any more. In the morning, i removed the spark plugs, three were drenched with gazoline the fourth was dry. I put tissue over each injector hole, and when i turn the engine on without sparks, the ones that have gazoline pop right out. The 4th one remains closed. I tested the ground connection on ECU pins 14/55, 30/55 and 48/55. i get zero ohm. I'm assuming the issue is elsewhere.
I also tried to reset the PID but with no luck. The car will start when the G28 is disconnected, but it is running fine with the G28 plugged in. However, the intermittent misfire problem still occurs at higher RPM. The coolant temperature sensor (G62) shows the wrong temperature of -49c even when i unplug it. Also, i noticed that the oil pressure gauge in the cockpit shows 2 bar when the actual pressure is 0.0 if i crank up the engine.
I'm not certain what to do, i feel i have pretty much eliminated everything else. But i am afraid I might have missed something. If anyone has any ideas please let me know! TIA!
3. Fuel Pump
The fuel pump in the g28 is activated by a signal by the RPM sensor. The GM-style transmitter is identical to the G4 sender and works on the 80,100,200, UrS, and RS2 vehicles. You can easily locate a spare in a wrecking shop or a parts store. It is easy to test them - simply switch your DMM into resistance mode and measure the distance between pins 1 and 2 (with the bump at the connector end facing upwards). They should be infinite Ohms.

Our 20vt turbo (3B AAN, ABY and ADU) engines have an ECU that has to know the speed and position of the crankshaft to make a decision about timing of the fuel injectors, etc. To accomplish this, it utilizes a Crank Position Sensor (G4) and an Engine Speed Sensor (G28). If you encounter a problem with either of these, the diagnostic scanner will show codes that could cause an engine shut down.
Some of the symptoms of a failed G28 sensor include an inaccurate rev counter in the gearbox and gears that shift faster than normal and/or a misfire when you are in gear. If you are experiencing any of these problems, it is most likely that your sensor is deteriorating and needs replacing. The good thing is that they are very affordable and easy to find particularly if you're looking at a Bosch sensor, which is what ours are. If you prefer, GM's version of this part is an excellent choice.
