WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boost to certain stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of the item upgrading by +3. A random additional substat is also added to each upgrade.

The upgraded gear is usually more valuable, unless it has low requirements by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a large variance in stats (like Eth Titan weapons). Upgrades are less useful for the latter because of the requirement to roll an exact version.

Recycle Points

The upgrader for items allows players to upgrade their gear to a higher Best item upgrade level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of armor or weapon. However, the item used for the upgrade will be consumed for the duration of time and can't be used again. Upgrades can be applied to the enchantments.

It's also important to use crests in a wise manner, as they are only used for one purpose. For instance it's a good idea use all of your Whelpling-rank crests on the top equipment you have and then save Drake and Wyrm crests for the next batch of upgrades you plan on making. This is especially true for items like rings and trinkets that take up multiple slots on the character, which can only be eligible to benefit from the account-wide discount when all of the slots are filled with high-quality gear.
